I am with the help desk and in charge of pushing out software. I keep running into that error when pushing out software to new Windows 10 computers. They are connected to the network, pingable, can be remoted into, and work for a lot of the softeware deployed. It just comes up from time to time and randomly but when the error occurs we hit a brick wall with the workstation. This issue is exclusive to the Windows 10 computers.

Any ideas helpful!

  • What make/model are those devices? Are they connected to Ethernet or wireless?

I had a similar issue, but it was not related to PDQ. Order new Dell Latitude 3490 using Qualcomm QCA61x4A wireless NIC. Turns out there is a bug and the NIC will keep reconnecting. A workaround is to go into the device manager and the properties of the wireless card. Look for brand preference and set it to only 2.5Ghz and not 5Ghz. There are two companies I seen use this network card, Dell and HP. They both have this issue. Issue will still occur if they are connected to Ethernet cable and wireless is still trying to connect.

If they are not running wireless, or the brand preference does not work, try ipconfig /flushdns and try the deployment again.

  • They are HP Mini. I did not even know those were wireless lol.

I tried disabling the wifi and rebooting then the issue went away.

    Thank you!!!!
