Workstation won't scan

I have a workstation that won't scan. I've tried to right click and scan the workstation but nothing happens. I can scan the collection(s) it is in. All of the workstations but that one will scan. I've had the user restart the workstation but that hasn't fixed the issue.
What do I need to do to getting scanning working for this workstation?

Is the PDQ Inventory service running on the local machine?
No, should it be? It's not even listed.
It's not required, no. Wasn't sure if you had it deployed in your environment.
Jobs run on the workstation. It just won't scan.
I restarted the PDQ Inventory service on the server and now it's working.
