365 Cloud Install

I'm new to PDQ but not new to software distribution.

We are a small org and we're installing Office ProPlus 365 via the command line:

Setup.exe /configure configuration.xml

Where the xml file is pulling down Office from the cloud rather than a server share. It is also non-silent, which we prefer.

It appears to me that most of the 365 discussions around PDQ are based on creating distribution shares via a download rather than my preferred method. However, I was looking to automate it just a bit via PDQ. Can a successful package be created using this kind of xml file / method?

Thanks.

  • Hi Adam,

You can certainly do it. Just move the setup.exe with the configuration file to the computer and run the command from the PC. When it sees there are no Office files there it will download them. There is a video the PDQ admins created regarding installing Office 365. If you watch that you will be an Office deployment Pro.
