PDQ Deploy - add empty PDQ Inventory collection?

Is there a way to add an empty PDQ Inventory collection to a PDQ deployment? Right now the dynamic collection is empty and I can't add it. But the idea is once the said collection is populated with a computer object, PDQ deploy will deploy what's needed as fast as possible.

  • Hello!

I think you may be after the "Link to" function, will deploy to the collection as it is populated

  • @Triggels thanks for that - had no idea! Will that option give me a running grand total of successful deployments as well?

  • No Worries. I am unsure how to do the running grand total you seek as we have never needed it. In our PDQ Deploy settings, we also have a Deployment Cleanup set for 15days just to try and keep things a bit tidy, so a grand total would never be accurate, however, I would suggest creating a report in inventory, something like this:

Columns: Adding the Count in the Summary column for Name gives a number total instead of listing the computer names. If you want to see the names just remove the Count from the Summary column.

Filters: Name of the package, and then the global variable for the current PDQ version of the package, this report should always work with the latest version of chrome

    Example:

Hope this may point you in the right direction
