Command step stalling and has no output log

Hi Folks, newbie here.

I've been trying to add a command step to a custom package but whenever it hits that step. It just sits and spins. not sure where i'm going wrong? I've been trying to use the line: regsvr32.exe filename.dll gpupdate /force

i've tried making a batch file and same thing happened.

Also, how can i create a log file so i can see what it's doing?

    Try doing it in PowerShell instead.
