PDQ Inventory : How do I create a collection ?
I have 800 PCs & laptops and they were successfully scanned....I can see like 600 Win10 & 200 Win7 etc.... But i have many running different version of Veeam Agent for Windows (VAW)....1.x, 3.01x & 3.02x (latest version).
What I did was to have the installer in PDQ deploy to silently update VAW to 3.01x & later to 3.02x. I tested this on 100 machines but found out certain errors as VAW 1.x cannot be updated while some of 100 machines were powered off (3 of them) so were not updated.
Is there a way I can categorize them so I can use the collections with PDQ deploy ?
- VAW 1.x need to uninstall & install with 3.02
- VAW 3.01x can update to 3.02

Create a parent collection that looks for Veeam Agent. Then create a collection under that that looks for version 3. Create another collection under the parent that displays all computers that is NOT a member of the collection with Version 3. Make sure to drill down from parent collection.
Parent collection - Show computers that have Veeam installed.
Sub collection - Show computers that have Veeam 3 installed.
Sub collection - Show computers that are NOT a member of the first sub collection. (Drilling down from parent will display all computers that have Veeam installed, but not the computers in the collection for Veeam 3.)
But how do I find the versions from the "scanned" inventory ?
I don't have Veeam Agent, so my example application name might be wrong, but probably close.
Make a new "Basic" report.
(For stuff like this, I generally don't save the report because I just use a few bits of information from themto make collections. But you can.)
Filter it by computers that have an application installed with "Veeam Agent" in the name.
Then make the report show the information about what applications and versions match that.
Run the report, note the versions. Make collections/subcollections based on that.
Thanks...that was a great help...
