Agent reports wrong IP address

I noticed that a few of the machines I installed the agent on are reporting the ip address of a different NIC. For example. my machine has vmware workstation and my ip address in pdq inventory shows the ip of the vmware nic. I disabled the vmware nics and now pdq shows the correct ip address. Is this a bug or can I fix this?
