Start a recurring deployment beween a certain timeframe?

I want to schedule deployments on a large number of machines, but I only want run the deployment from 12am to 6am once a week.

I have not been able to see a way within the Scheduler. Is this possible within the scheduler, if so, am i just being stupid?

Thanks

  • Bahri,

When you create the schedule, you can set a weekly trigger with a start time of 12:00AM. If you know roughly how long the deployment takes, you can then go into the "Options" tab and check the box to stop deploying to remaining queued targets after e.g. 300 minutes. That will stop triggering new deployments after 5am, but allow the ones already started to finish. Basically, the "stop deploying after" timer should be the length of your maintenance window (360 minutes) minus the length of time it takes your package to deploy to a target. I assumed a package deployment timer of 60 minutes for my example.

    Hope this helps!

  • Luke,

Thanks for the quick response. I actually did see the 'stop deploy after' option but my brain did not put 2 and 2 together!

    Thanks!

  • I don't blame you for not realizing how it works at first glance, it's not exactly intuitive.

    Glad I could help!
