PDQ vs multiple networks
Hello everybody,
at the moment a lot of our users are working from homeoffice over VPN. The VPN-Network has of course an own IP-Address. PDQ Inventory knows our notebooks under an IP-Address from our in-house network and because of that the notebooks are always shown as offline.
I have already deleted all dynamic address leases on our DHCP servers. After that I deleted all notebooks in PDQ, initiated a new AD-Sync and network discovery. The most notebooks are now found with the correct IP, but some (about 1/4) have error messages like "Duplicate computer host name:" or "Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user [...] ".
I have two questions:
Is there any way that PDQ can handle one hostname with at least two different IPs?
Or is there a possibility that PDQ forgets the IP-Addresses each night, so it can handle with dynamic IPs?
With best regards from Germany
Florian
