PS Scanner as logged on user

I know i'm really going to enjoy the PS scanner.

There are some limitations with scanning profiles because you don't have the ability to run as the logged on user. So, the "Mapped Drives" scanner will return the mapped drives of the scan user as opposed to the logged on user, making it more relevant to use un Deploy where you can interact with the logged on user.

Inventory "Run Command" tool can finally now interact with the logged on user, but will not return the results to the PS stored results area within Inventory.

If there's a way around this, or i'm missing something, please let me know! Otherwise, i'd like to see more flexibility with the scanners to run as the logged on user.

In my testing it actually does grab the mapped drives of all logged on users. However, I totally agree that there are scenarios where running the scanner with the "Logged on User" option would be useful. It's something we're looking into adding.

  • I am also not getting any returns on the mapped drives. Our drives are mapped via VB script: MapDrive "Letter","\\Server\Folder". Is there a way to capture these mapped drives?

  • I've discovered a potential workaround, by creating a new PS scan profile with this single line: Get-SMBConnection
