Hi, so I'm kind of new around these forums so I hope I'm posting this in the right spot. If not, please point me in the right direction.
I have a question about the Edge for Business installer package built by PDQ. Specifically, why does the Edge installer have the "Disable Auto-Update" and "Block Automatic Delivery of Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based)" included as base parts of the installation?
While I don't agree with disabling automatic updates, I can see why some people would want to have that in their environment. But, shouldn't that be the kind of thing we can choose to disable?
Also, why block delivery of the app if it's being installed in the same package? Or was this done to block updates to the Edge version through Windows Update?
I don't know, maybe I'm just not thinking like an admin but it would seem better to have people actually get updates automatically. I know most of my staff never actually takes the time to check for and run updates manually and the IT department doesn't have the staffing to police them.
Anyways, thanks for your time.
