Only scan new computers added to AD

Is there a way to create a scan profile to scan for only new computers. I do not want to have to scan all the computers looking for just one registry flag that will be present on new computers added to the AD. Is there a way that it only scans new machines added and then adds to my collection? Is that what hearbeat would do. Not sure if i understand heartbeat fully.
