Deploy to VPN IP address

I deploy packages to workstations through VPN by IP address but it has suddenly stopped working and now gives the error 'The specified network name is no longer available'. I can deploy by IP locally, but it no longer works through VPN.

This has happened before and was fixed after a PDQ update. I am wondering if this problem is caused by Windows updates on the workstations and PDQ has to catch up.

Can you still access the workstation via IP not using PDQ?

Like if you go to \\10.10.10.10\ADMIN$ does that still connect (with the correct IP)? Because if that's not working, then PDQ obviously won't work either until the network connectivity is working.

Another strange thing is that there are still a couple workstations that will respond to PDQ through VPN IP. I wonder if these workstations have not received recent Windows updates but I've been unable to verify.
