Intune and PDQ
I'm just wondering if anyone can throw some ideas at me about how to continue to use PDQ with Intune? We have a ton of new devices that are managed through Azure AD and Intune, and I would like to continue to use PDQ with these devices.
I don't see how PDQ Link can help me unless there is some way for it to connect automatically using the administrator account and stay running as a service. I also need a way to find these machines on the wireless network, and was wondering if there might be a way to force the machine to request addition to PDQ Inventory through a powershell script. There is also the issue of getting the ports that PDQ Deploy and Inventory need to work, and I've tried that with a powershell script but apparently failed.
Is anyone else heading down this road and encountering the same issues?

I'm getting total silence on this, so that worries me greatly. I help a lot of other school districts with PDQ, so I am sure hoping that they figure out a way to create some sort of client that can check back. The original client failed because so may folks were sticking with their local AD, but even Microsoft is encouraging everyone to move to Azure AD. It's coming, I just hope PDQ can come there with us.

The reason PDQ is ignoring everyone here is because they have no plan on doing anything to support anything other than an on premise AD with local network endpoints. It's never going to happen, they tried creating an agent like almost every other MDM offers and they failed miserably.
I see that this thread has been inactive for a while, but I wanted to let you know that we have released PDQ Connect. PDQ's agent-based product is now available at pdq.com/pdq-connect which may help with some of the challenges listed above.

I am facing the same problem. I absolutely love PDQ Deploy and Inventory. It has been great but the management of PCs is evolving. Intune is great, autopilot is brilliant. If PDQ could bring the amazing feature set to complement InTune that would be ideal.
We are up for renewal soon and I have been looking at other products in the UEM space. I hope PDQ come up with something like a working agent soon.

Totally agree! With BYOD and InTune + AutoPilot we too see 2 different scenarios. In the internal network scenario PDQ is just great. In the BYOD-scenario (which is currently InTune managed) we can't use PDQ anymore.
Is there anything in the making to fit PDQ into this scenario?
We need this really bad - 50% of our devices are not showing in PDQ and it is really frustrating
I have asked the same question over multiple forms with no answer from PDQ. With the way things are rapidly moving towards MDM i.e intune/meraki etc, I believe simply PDQ doesn't have an answer for these. We will be moving away from them in the near future as we need a product that can be integrated into Azure for our clients which are all moving to the cloud.

if they can at least acknowledge if it's on the road map or not.
We would also like to see n InTune option or a return of the client. Currently, we are using a split-tunnel VPN with our Palo Alto firewall that we pushed out when they were in the building, but it could be pushed out using InTune if that was the only option.
VPN-->DNS-->PDQ Inv is a little sluggish on seeing the client machines, but that is the fault of how we have our VPN/DNS setup.
I believe the free VPN-ish was/is a great free solution to hold everyone over that can't afford a traditional VPN.
I'm back again. I haven't given up yet, PDQ is just too good to walk away from, but I definitely need some hooks into Intune.
I just can't believe that we can't get a client that checks in, downloads a "payload" and then executes it on some schedule. That would be enough for me. Any VPN solution is just too slow and cumbersome.
Is there any plan on the horizon to help us poor school districts out with something we can use with all these new devices?
I've gotten some communication from them, they may not realize how badly we need some kind of agent for PDQ. I think I have let them know how interested I am, and many others on here as well. I really don't want to move to a different product, but I am to that point if I don't have something by Christmas I can hang my hat on. It's just something I can't live without at this point, and it looks like the variant may put us back virtual in the near future.
Oh, they know how much an agent would help their current customer base, they have been told over and over again. They just don't have any interest in creating one. Their last attempt was a complete mess and I don't think they are interested at all in supporting anyone who needs an agent.
We have moved to AAD and Intune for the vast majority of our endpoints and only have a few thousand left to move. Once that's completed we will discontinue our PDQ license.
Hopefully we get a response soon.
Has anyone tried Chocolatey with Intune?
