Network path was not found

I'm using PDQ Deploy Free Version on my DC.  Deploying package to install Chrome to a remote laptop on the domain.  DNS is correct on the laptop.  Laptop is connected via VPN.  I can ping the laptop from the DC as well as find it (correct IP) using nslookup.  I use Deploy and select the device from Active Directory Computers, but it fails with "The network path was not found." error.  What should I check to resolve this?

  • Hi Pankerson,
start PDQ Deploy, go HELP > Open Remote Repair
select Other computer and enter the remote computer's name. Click analyze.

  • 4 test failed.

    Connect to IPC$ Share

    Access Admin$ Share

    Create Service

    Read Privileges

All have message "The network path was not found."

The computer is connected via Azure VPN client and has a route to the domain controller. I suspect it is probably a DNS issue, but I can't figure out what it is.

  • This sounds more like a firewall problem on the target machine.

You can try to create specific firewall rule where you allow all incoming traffic from your IP address and test it again.

  • Did you have any luck with this?  We've also deployed Azure VPN client recently and are looking how to resolve this

  • Hello Oluwanifemi Falabi,

this is a typical situatiion, where the firewall is blocking the connection. Are you on "Private network" or "Public network" profile?
