PDQ Link and Office 16 causing machines to go slow
Now I can't really explain this, but we have put PDQ Link on a bunch of staff laptops and its been really handy to be able to impero or otherwise remote onto their machines while they are home now we are all back WFH, but, it seems when they have pdq link connected and open office, their machines grind to a halt (not literally, but fans come on and response goes slooooow), disconnect from PDQ Link or close office and they are fine again. Now I inherited my network and have mainly been putting out fires and office hasn't been a fire for me generally so I am not ultra in depth on how its set up, but certainly, with a cursory look, there was no reason I could find for this to be happening - I mean, I can't imagine why word would be taxing a vpn link, what is the worst it could be doing? checking in with the KMS? Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone had experienced this or had any idea why this might be happening?
The machines are out in the field now and teachers are using them to teach so jumping on to trouble shoot is problematic, but I can do if anyone has any ideas of what to look for.
Thanks
Charles

Not much use, but also in a school here and run PDQ Link and office 16 no bother.
Are you possibly running network profiles? Or relocated AppData so office is churning through huge files on the file server rather than locally?
Only traffic to your school network is forced through the VPN, so it's got to be Office 'phoning home' for something.

nb, switch to AD activation rather than KMS :)
