Custom field import by serial?

Is is possible to import custom fields by serial number? I have a list of serials and warranty dates and asset tags and want to import them. The PC names are not necessarily accurate.

    No, the Custom Fields Import Wizard uses the Computer Name. You could write a report that contains Computer Name and Serial Number, export that, and merge it into your CSV.

    Thanks. I thought of this. Just have to figure out how to make Excel do the magic and have our admins not modify machine names during the process.
