Microsoft Edge Business install directory question

we use Deploy to update our Edge for Windows 10 environment and running into a slew of Windows Update install issues from July/august and as i'm digging into it, its leading me to what looks like an issue w/ Edge (specifically if Edge was attempted to uninstall improperly or something which isnt the case here ) BUT in my digging i see under c:\program files (x86)\microsoft i see both an Edge and Edge Core folder which both have edge.exe apps in them.    i have not done any Edge installs manually outside of PDQ and curious if anyone knows what this core folder might be?  the subfolder of that has the current v92.x.x version subfolder for reference.  not quite sure if this would be a pdq issue, microsoft or other (i'd lean towards not being PDQ since its just doing silent installs but thought i'd ask

    My machines are the same.  I would surmise that it is by design.

    my main shortcuts point to the Edge folder, not Edge Core so not sure what that Core folder is for.......weird that the Windows update issue seems to point to people that have an empty Edge folder (from an uninstall) and you have to delete that folder before th patch but not the case for us........trying to rename anyways
