ESET endpoint antivirus

Hello,

I have been trying to push and or update ESET endpoint antivirus ( not the agent)

Copy is fine but after that nothing append, it is running forever and i dont have any new task on the remote computer taht is showing in task manager.

Install File: \\xxx\xx\eea_nt64.msi

Parameters: --silent --accepteula --avr-enable

I tried eset KB: kb6820

ESET Endpoint Security/Antivirus version 6.5 and later

If you are deploying the all-in-one installer from ERA version 6.5 or ESMC 7, the following parameters are required:

ESMC_Installer_x64_en_US.exe --silent --accepteula
ESMC_Installer_x64_en_US.exe --silent --accepteula --avr-disable

The "silent" parameter is not functional in ESET endpoint products version 6.5. When using the parameters, the installation is automated, but the GUI is visible during the installation.

The "silent" parameter is fully functional in ESET endpoint products version 6.6 and later

  • I wonder if the /qn parameter is conflicting with the --silent?  The snippet you posted from the KB shows the .exe version of the installer.

  • OK...here is my suggestion.  Your Command Line is greyed out, but you can click the Custom box to the right and edit it to your liking.

I would start by doing to background testing.  On a computer, execute the "eea_nt64.msi /?" and see what command line options are available to you.  I would suspect you should leave the Parameters field blank, but the /? test will show you what options are available to do what you want to do.

  • This should be the proper msi parameters for EP6.x :
