Dynamic group filter : list of specific users

Hello,

I'm searching a way of creating a very specific dynamic collection on PDQ Invenotry and after researching the net i'm pondering if it's even possible :)

I would like to create a collection of computers used by specific users. The only common point is a list of 169 user ids that I have ... The computers are "owned" by those users so there ids is well referenced on PDQ Inventory.

Maybe via regular expression ? But I'm not familiar with this language.

Thanks  for your time !

  • PDQ had a great article and a few other good resources. I reached out to their support because I do use it from time to time and it looks like the article got archived. They found a wayback link, but some links are broken because its older article. This was super helpful for me learning regular expressions.

They also provided one of Lex's awesome videos. Lex did another one on created a list of software using regular expressions to make a PDQ collection but I couldn't find that.

If you create a collection with a filter of Computer > Current User > Matches Expression > @(UserList), where @(UserList) is a variable of your list of users piped together (user1|user2|user3|etc) that should do it.

Hope that is what you're looking for.
