How many deployments?

So we are currently 30,000+ deployments in after about 6 months. Most of our deployments are on heartbeats with a scheduled once a week in there too to catch PC's that arent restarted as frequently.

How many deployments are you at in your enviornment? With this being a SQLLite database im sure this is going to fill up quick and become inefficent. I wish PDQ was able to use a full SQL instance. When should we consider blowing away the database and starting over? Should we even consider that? Feels like things are getting sluggish.

  • I recommend lowering your Cleanup setting.

    Options --> Preferences --> Deployment --> Cleanup

    I tried to link to a page in the documentation, but the forum blocked me. Optimizing PDQ Deploy --> Best Practices --> Maintaining the PDQ Deploy Database --> Cleaning Up Deployment History

  • I'm at 228,048, but as Colby said, clean up your deployments.  I only keep my history for a week.

  • We are at 68,904. I've been told before that running too many heartbeats can impact performance, not sure how many you are running but you could look at reducing it.
