Scanning Apple MacBook or iMac?

Hi!
Do I have any chance to scan and to take an inventory of a MacBook or an iMac that I have admintrative access to? What scanner should I use?

    PDQ currently does not support Mac OS X. Hopefully with their recent acquisition of SimpleMDM this will change in the future, however as far as I know there is no timeline for any such feature announced at this time.
