PDQ through MDT progress screen?

I have MDT able to push the apps portion through PDQ. Has anyone come up with a creative way to show some sort of progress of PDQ on the MDT image screen?
The issue is the tech doing the image can see the progress of each step while imaging through the MDT Deployment process. When it gets to the PDQ section, there is really no way of knowing its progress. Furthermore, if it is stuck. I know we can look at all of that in PDQ but was just looking for a way for the tech to be able to see if things may have frozen up or if the PDQ deployment is progressing. Also if it fails at a step, it will just have MDT proceed and the tech performing the image will have no idea there was a failure unless you check the PDQ console.

Thanks,

Scott

  • Hi,

I don't have much experience showing progress bars from PowerShell on MDT and I haven't used MDT in a while, but I think that there are two approaches to your situation that come to mind.

    1. Create a MDT step for each application that you are deploying. This should show it progressing through steps.

    2. Use the -NotificationName argument on pdqdeploy.exe deploy so that it sends an email when each deployment completes.

    Cheers,

    Andrew
