Update PDQ Deploy + Inventory Versions
We have a central PDQ Deploy & Inventory server which is showing there are new versions available to update to.
Before downloading and installing them I would like to know if there's anything I need to be aware of. I'm assuming it's going to push out updated agents to the clients as well all behind the scenes.
Is updating to the newer version something that can be done during production hours (as long as there's no deployments running) without notice to the end users?
Thanks!

99.9% of the time, it's a quick and painless process. If you want to be cautious, make sure you have a recent backup stored somewhere other than your PDQ machine, such as a network share. https://link.pdq.com/docs-PDQInventory?database.htm
No. When a Client console is opened, it will show a prompt to update. If you want to update the Client consoles silently, you can create packages in Deploy: https://www.pdq.com/blog/how-to-deploy-pdq-client-consoles/
No. It will interrupt anyone who has a Client console open.
Awesome thank you - I appreciate the help!
Colby Bouma I'm on step 2 here https://www.pdq.com/blog/how-to-deploy-pdq-client-consoles/ and when I check the default location for the installer I only see our current version and previous versions.
When I click "A new version is available" and select "Download update file only" it gives me an .exe. Just wondering how you're getting the PDQDeploy.msi in your instructions.
Thanks again
You have to install the update on the Server before the MSI will show up.
