Best OS for package server?

What are people using out there for a file package server? What is the best? I'm more familiar with Windows, but Linux wouldn't be a bad idea either. Is a File Server only usable by a paid version?

Agreed, this would be great. It would be similar to Self Service with Jamf. https://www.jamf.com/products/jamf-pro/self-service/
