WMI Object Not Found

Purpose:

You receive an error that an object in Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) could not be found.

In most cases this error indicates the WMI Repository on the target machine is corrupt. PDQ Inventory is querying for a WMI Class or Object that should exist but is not in the WMI Repository.

Resolution:

Repair the WMI Repository on the target system. To do so, run the following command from an administrative/elevated command prompt on the target machine. While the command may return fairly quickly, the actual rebuild process can take around 30 minutes. Please wait 30 minutes and then rescan the target machine.

winmgmt /salvagerepository

If you continue to experience the same error or a different WMI error, please see the WMI Diagnostics article for additional troubleshooting and recommended fixes.
