Error installing Dell Command | Configure

Output log shows the following:

SYSTEMSMANAGEMENT: The current user does not have elevated administrator privileges. Systems Management software can only be installed by a user with elevated administrator privileges. Consult the Install Guide for additional information.

I am deploying as a Domain Administrator, and other packages deploy just fine. Running PDQ Deploy 17 (Release 2). I am trying to deploy Dell Command | Configure 4.2 (the latest from Dell's website). As with the rest of my packages, it is setup in a Pull-mode to copy the files down. Entire directory is included; command-line is msiexec.exe /i "Command_Configure.msi" ALLUSERS=1 /qn /norestart /L*VX C:\output.log.

I am attempted to deploy to Windows 7 and Windows 10 clients. There seems to be no rhyme or reason why it works for some, but not others. I am trying to deploy on a schedule to a group of systems without the application installed. Deploy computer is Windows 7 Pro, joined to the domain.

  • I found the solution. This particular package relies on certain abilities within newer Dell BIOSes. For the "older" systems, I was able to deploy the Dell Firmwares to upgrade the BIOSes, then the program would deploy without issue.
