Edge - Blocking Automatic Delivery

Been using PDQ Inventory and Deploy for a while, but this is my first post.

I found an old post somewhat related to my question here...

Blocking automatic delivery of Edge and disabling auto updates are part of the Microsoft Edge deployment package..

Disabling auto updates seems pretty clear to me, but what exactly does blocking automatic delivery of Edge do? The added registry key is HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate" /v DoNotUpdateToEdgeWithChromium

Just trying to gain some knowledge. Thanks in advance.

    It's been a while, but I believe that was for blocking Edge from updating itself to the Chromium version. That version of Edge has been built-in to the last few feature upgrades though, so that setting doesn't really do anything now.
