PDQ Deploy or PDQ Inventory reports "The specified network name is no longer available" when deploying and scanning to computers.
This is a generic Windows\SMB error that means an SMB connection to the computer failed.
Some of the possible causes are:
- Masking other errors, such as "The target account name is incorrect".
- The Server service on the target computer is having issues or not running.
- SMB protocol negotiation failed due to misconfiguration or it was blocked.
You can run the "net use \\computer name" a couple of times to determine if it's masking another error.
