The specified network name is no longer available

Purpose

PDQ Deploy or PDQ Inventory reports "The specified network name is no longer available" when deploying and scanning to computers.

Resolution

This is a generic Windows\SMB error that means an SMB connection to the computer failed.

Some of the possible causes are:

• Masking other errors, such as the Kerberos "The target account name is incorrect".
• The Server service on the target computer is having issues or not running.
• SMB protocol negotiation failed due to misconfiguration or it was blocked.
• Stale/incorrect DNS records
